Chris Grabenstein Reading and Book Signing
Join us as we host Chris Grabenstein, bestselling author of the Big Read Wichita 2016 young reader companion selection Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics. He will be reading from his new book, Welcome to Wonderland #1: Home Sweet Motel as well as signing books. In addition to his newest book and the Mr. Lemoncello series, Chris Grabenstein has written the Island of Dr. Libris and coauthored several bestselling young reader series with James Patterson, including I Funny, House of Robots, and Treasure Hunters.

Family ArtVenture: The Little Read
This ArtVenture brings the joy of reading and the arts together in a celebration of the Wichita Public Library's Big Read. WAM celebrates literacy and the arts with special artmaking, games, and activities. Complimentary copies of Big Read youth companion books will be given to families completing ArtVenture activities (while supplies last; one book per family.) Drop in anytime!

Robotics Demonstration
Just as Ray Bradbury imagined a future of robotics playing a role in our society, we present a unique Big Read Wichita event with local inventors who are doing more than imagining. A local competitive robotics team will take its invented robot on a test run and share information on the current state of robotics and how robots are being used to change our lives. For ages 12 and up.
